Sofia Dabestani

Sofia received her BS in Applied Psychology with specialization in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Studies from New York University and is currently completing a Master of Arts in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness. Sofia has experience working with presenting concerns such as anxiety, depression, and trauma. Her preferred age group ranges from 5-25 years old however, she has experience working with all age groups. Sofia aims to draw from different modalities such as CBT, DBT, trauma-informed practice, and mindfulness, to meet the needs of her clients. Sofia believes that everyone, including children, deserves a therapist who will create a safe space to help them address their concerns and grow.
I will use my strong sense of understanding and empathy to provide you with a safe space and meet you where you are at emotionally. I want people to know they are not alone in their struggles by validating their emotions and instilling hope. I welcome clients of all diverse backgrounds and identities including gender, ethnicity, or race.
