Caini earned her Master's degree in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness at New York University. With the use of DBT and a person-centered approach, Caini knows how to effectively help clients manage the ups and downs of intense emotions and lead clients to recognize the beauty of their authenticity, boost their self-esteem, and together build a life worth living. As an Asian female therapist, Caini hopes to empower cultural minorities through a social justice lens by meeting them where they are at. In addition, David has worked with clients of different ages from teenagers to adults. Joana received her B.A. in Forensic Psychology & her M.A. in Forensic Mental Health Counseling from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She speaks English, Greek, & Albanian, and enjoys working with individuals who also come from diverse cultural backgrounds. Some of her areas of focus are anxiety, depression, trauma, & relationship difficulties. 

 

As a psychotherapist, Joana uses a client-led approach to structuring early sessions in order to cultivate a safe and comfortable environment.
