MHC - Intern
Jamie Liu (she/her) is a mental health counseling intern pursuing an MA in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness and an Advanced Certificate in LGBTQ+ Health at New York University. Her background includes cross-cultural, community-based work with LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent populations, along with supervised clinical experience supporting trauma survivors. Her clinical interests include anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, identity exploration, relationships, and life transitions, with particular interest in supporting LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, and BIPOC clients. She provides services in English and Mandarin.
Jamie uses an integrative, person-centered, trauma-informed approach grounded in an anti-oppressive and decolonial lens. She draws from DBT-informed skills, mindfulness, and somatic practices, tailoring therapy to each client’s needs, identities, and lived experiences. Her approach is also sex-positive and affirming of kink/BDSM and consensual non-monogamy. Jamie strives to offer a warm, collaborative space where clients can deepen their self-understanding, navigate difficult experiences, and build lives that feel meaningful on their own terms.
