Elaine Lo
MHC - Intern
Elaine is committed to co-creating healing, authentic relationships with women of color, LGBTQ+, AAPI, and BIPOC individuals who are seeking support for depression, anxiety, trauma, and interpersonaldifficulties. As a Taiwanese-American woman of color, she understands how mental health is intertwined with systemic oppression. She believes that therapy can help lift some of the burden of internalized oppression so that her clients can live a more liberated, interconnected life. As a therapist, Elaine provides a warm, non-judgmental space, and draws from person-centered, cognitive behavioral, mindfulness, and somatic approaches.
Elaine is currently completing her Ms.Ed. in Mental Health Counseling at Hunter College. She brings her previous clinical training providing affirming psychotherapy to diverse individuals facing mood concerns, intergenerational trauma, and relationship issues, to her work, as well as her experience leading skills-based dialectical behavior group therapy and volunteering in crisis intervention.
