Catherine Yuan is a master's student in the Mental Health Counseling (MHC) program at Columbia University. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of British Columbia, where she developed a strong interest in psychological well-being and human development. Catherine has gained experience working with diverse populations across a range of settings, including hospitals, schools, urgent care centers, and nursing homes. These experiences have allowed her to support individuals from different backgrounds and life stages while developing a flexible and compassionate approach to care. Her therapeutic approach centers on creating a client-centered, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where individuals feel safe to share their stories and explore their experiences. Catherine is particularly interested in working with clients who are experiencing mood fluctuations, emotional distress, or challenging life transitions. She aims to help clients develop insight, strengthen emotional resilience, and cultivate a greater sense of balance and positivity in their lives.
I offer a collaborative, relational space where healing begins with a strong therapeutic relationship. Drawing from psychodynamic and CBT perspectives, I help clients explore emotional patterns, process grief or trauma, and better understand themselves. Together, we work to develop insight, resilience, and a renewed sense of meaning and direction in life.
