Allison Tortorella (She/Her)

Allie is working towards her M.A. in Mental Health Counseling at Teachers College, Columbia University. She acknowledges there is no “one size fits all” approach in the therapy room. Her ultimate goal is to create a space that fits each client's unique needs in a way that is never judgmental, wholly collaborative, and genuinely supportive. She feels the core level of her job is to develop a strong connection with her clients, allowing them to show up however they’d like and discuss whatever they’d like in session. Allie uses an integrative approach guided by a person-centered orientation, using behavioral techniques, mindfulness, and psychodynamic perspectives. She also recognizes how context and societal messaging may have shaped your belief systems. In helping clients sit through the discomfort that can arise from gaining insight into life patterns, Allie also aims to encourage the excitement of discovering healthier ways of being in the world.
