Meet the facilitators

Brittany Butts, LMHC 

Brittany Butts is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a MA degree from Hofstra University. She has worked on psychiatric inpatient, outpatient and home-based levels, providing mental health counseling to a variety of individuals from all walks of life. Brittany’s therapeutic orientation is rooted in cognitive behavioral and mindfulness methodologies in which she collaborates with her clients to work toward individualized treatment goals. Brittany is a proponent of self-reflection as a means of developing insight into one’s thoughts, feelings and behaviors to enhance one’s ability to cope and facilitate self-growth. Brittany creates a warm and inviting space for therapy and is dedicated to maintaining the confidentiality of her clients.

Stephen Boegehold 

Stephen is earning his masters in Mental Health Counseling from Hunter College. Stephen works from a perspective of curiosity and empathy that regards you as the expert of your life. Where and when appropriate, he utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Relational Cultural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and mindfulness and somatic-based approaches. Drawing from his previous career in improvised music, he is particularly interested in creatively exploring issues such as perfectionism, anxiety, low self-esteem/worth, gender roles/socialization and creating purpose.
